Distinct Community Assembly Mechanisms of Different Growth Stages in a Warm Temperate Forest

چکیده

Community phylogenetic structure and diversity analysis are useful complements to species-centric approaches in biodiversity studies by providing new insights into the processes that drive community assembly. In this study, we aimed understand differences relative importance of abiotic filtering, biotic interactions, dispersal limitation on assembly trees at different vegetation growth stages. We also examined influence geographical distance, elevation, terrain, soil. Thus, structures β-diversities saplings adults along gradients. The results net relatedness index (NRI) showed that, instead being random, tended be convergent, whereas divergent. This result implies forces filtering interactions change throughout growth. generalized dissimilarity modelling (GDM) (geographical distance) influenced both saplings. confirmed our hypothesis deterministic stochastic were prevalent. explanatory rates geographic distance environmental factor β-diversity quite between saplings, which meant force had changed.

Tree seedling growth and survival over 6 years across different microsites in a temperate rain forest

We investigated whether canopy tree seedlings have different growth and mortality rates on different microsites in montane rain forests of the western South Island, New Zealand. Seedling relative height growth rates of three species, Podocarpus hallii, Quintinia acutifolia, and Weinmannia racemosa, were very low (mean = 0.037 cm·cm–1·year–1). Seedling growth rates were higher on logs than on th...

Distinct Modes of Neuritic Growth in Purkinje Neurons at Different Developmental Stages: Axonal Morphogenesis and Cellular Regulatory Mechanisms

BACKGROUND During development, neurons modify their axon growth mode switching from an elongating phase, in which the main axon stem reaches the target territory through growth cone-driven extension, to an arborising phase, when the terminal arbour is formed to establish synaptic connections. To investigate the relative contribution of cell-autonomous factors and environmental signals in the co...

Opposing assembly mechanisms in a neotropical dry forest: implications for phylogenetic and functional community ecology.

Species diversity is promoted and maintained by ecological and evolutionary processes operating on species attributes through space and time. The degree to which variability in species function regulates distribution and promotes coexistence of species has been debated. Previous work has attempted to quantify the relative importance of species function by using phylogenetic relatedness as a pro...

Investigation of Different Stages of Aluminum Fluoride Crystal Growth

Crystallization of Aluminum fluoride at atmospheric pressure has been considered. Structure, size and shape of crystals formed during the crystallization process have been investigated. By applying the direct analysis method for the existed aluminum in solution, the aluminum fluoride nucleation process has been detected as a concentration valley at the outset of crystallization process. The...
